Civic Advocacy

The League influences public policy by advocating League policy positions at all levels of government, and by creating opportunities for public discussion. The League strives to empower citizens and to shape better communities worldwide. From the beginning, the League has been an activist, grassroots organization whose leaders believed that citizens should play a critical role in advocacy. It was then, and is now, a nonpartisan organization, neither supporting nor opposing candidates or political parties at any level of government, but always working on vital issues of concern to members and the public.Membership in the League is open to any person who subscribes to its purposes, policies, and principles.
