The neighborhood elementary schools serve many families who are temporarily living in their cars. Our Car Camp provides several of these families with a place family in a carto park each night. Because meeting basic needs can be challenging for these parents, the families also receive other benefits including hot showers. After being referred by the Edmonds School District or a local social service agency, the families are registered by the Car Camp administrators. At this time up to five families can be accommodated.
