Skagit First Step Shelter
A low barrier shelter, open in Burlington: a partnership of the City of Burlington, Friendship House and Skagit County. For many, Skagit Friendship House’s First Step Center is the first stride in stepping out of homelessness. With 45 Low-Barrier Cabins, and space for emergency cold weather shelter, those who struggle to reach the services they need have the opportunity to connect with basic resources, mental health support, substance abuse treatment, employment services, medical visits, fresh meals, and transportation.
