Intensive Treatment Foster Care parents require at least two years of foster parenting (or equivalent experience) before having an ITFC child placed in their home. The goal is to allow a severely affected child to heal in a loving home as opposed to a clinical environment. In addition to prior foster experience, ITFC families require extra training hours. Financial reimbursement is higher and an Olive Crest support counselor provides additional in-home services.
